hi,

not able to find DBCA in windows 10 for oracle 11g.

i ve searched in $oracle_home/bin and start -> programs -> oradb11g paths, its not available.

i need a create a db using this DBCA, hence need a solution for the same.

Yes you are right, am using below oracle version on windows 10, 64 bit

Oracle Database 11g Express Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production
PL/SQL Release 11.2.0.2.0 - Production
"CORE 11.2.0.2.0 Production"
TNS for 64-bit Windows: Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production
NLSRTL Version 11.2.0.2.0 - Production

After searching in google i have not got the solution, hence posted here for .

You cannot create a new database with XE, so DBCA is useless.

yes, i have installed oracle server.

hope DBCA is one of the method used to create a database, in that case am searching for DBCA.

please find below lines from oracle document for your reference.




Creating a Database
An Oracle database can be created by:
• Oracle Universal Installer
• Oracle Database Configuration Assistant
Graphical user interface
Java-based
Launched by the Oracle Universal Installer
Can be used as a stand-alone application
• The CREATE DATABASE command

As I said, DBCA is not part of eXpress Edition.

Thanks for your help.

I have download the oracle server for windows and got installed .

Now i can able to work on DBCA.

Understood that oracle XE is for simple and standard installation, where as other below software will have customized DB installation.

There is another more significant difference: XE is free for all purposes, whereas the SE2 or EE product must be licensed if you intend to anything other self-learning.
