Why do you think so? Or, what is the reason behind your thoughts?

And what does table partition actually mean here? CREATE or DROP? Or what? I mean ....

Don't just LISTEN to the guys around you. Test it yourself, and SHOW the guys they are wrong. You will go miles ahead them when you do so. Trust me, if you are in IT(fortunate enough to have test environment).

No need to depend on the IT organization to provide a test environment. The OP should create his own with VBox. see: http://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/category/opinion/ (Create your own test system)

Edit : As Gazzag pointed out, this is the correct link https://edstevensdba.wordpress.com/2011/06/02/create-your-own-test-system/

Ed, your link is slightly off. OP should probably use this one.

gazzag -

That's strange. For the life of me I can't find any difference, but your link works and mine doesn't. In Firefox I've done a 'copy link location' on both, pasted both into notepad, one on top of the other, and absolutely see no difference.

For me, your link works with FF but not with IE!
Note that with FF it is automatically converted to https and so if I directly use https with IE it works.

Actually, your link points to the category "opinion", in which the post "create your own test system" is the second post. So, the first post "plagiarism" shows up on top. The link which gazzag pointed to, directly opens the post.

So, one is the link to the category, the other is direct link to the post. That's all the difference I could make out.
