Hi,

We have migrated databases from physical servers to virtual servers .Currently application is pointing to virtual DB servers and is being used.We have moved all databases and scripts related ( that was automated in cronjob ) and everything to virtual server from physical sever.

Now my client does not want these databases in physical server since it is a shared server ( means other application database is also installed in same physical servers).

My question here is

1. Shall i just shutdown all database or better to remove it from physical servers ?
or
2. Lock all account in databases ?

Its a RAC database with 3 node cluster

Kindly advice.

With Regards,

Thanks

What is "it"?

what differentiates "best" solution from those which are not "best"?

I don't know what the problem is or what a solution needs to be.

If the client doesn't want the DB's on the physical servers then presumably you need to remove them.
So our question is why are you suggesting option 2 at all? what's the point?

I am just asking you whether we need to lock all user accounts in database ?

Thanks

And I'm asking what's the point of locking the accounts if you're going to remove the db from the server?

If you're about to demolish a building are you worried about going around locking the doors?

Yes,you are correct. There is no meaning in locking all user accounts when database is no longer in use.Just had a doubts on this and wanted to clarify on this.

Thanks everyone who answered my question.
