Hi Team,

I'm new into Oracle, Please consider the below scenario and respond it accordingly.

I want to add 500GB data file at primary database side, but doesn't have space at standby database side. My STANDBY_FILE_MANAGEMENT is set to Auto. Please advise me how to overcome from this situation.

How your standby database will work if you add 500G of data and there is no space?

I will get the warning at standby side but data file will successfully add at primary database side if standby_file_management set to auto.

What I meant, what is the purpose of a standby database? to follow the primary one and supply it in case of primary crash. If your standby database cannot hold the primary data it is useless and you can just stop it.
