The vktm in both RDBMS and ASM instances runs in high priority, or RT class, presumably because it is listed in _high_priority_processes. And I read somewhere that it wakes up every 20ms. This is causing me problems with the environment I use for teaching RAC and Grid Infrastructure, because I use virtual machines (one cluster for each student) and the VKTMs in all the virtual machines are soaking up all my CPU resources.
Can you see any problem with removing it from the _high_priority_processes list? Is there any way to reduce its wake-up frequency, or stop it completely?
I'ld like to stop the dia0 process, too. Any ideas? There are a lot of _diag parameters.

Thank you for any insight.
