PLEASE DONT MIND BUT WHY YOU ALWAYS TELL ME TO FOLLOW THE POSTING GUIDELINE.....??? I HAVE READ IT 3 TIMES.

ONLY I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHAT IS MEANT BY ORA AND LRM AND THE NUMBER WRITTEN IN FRONT OF THEM?

i am highly obliged....
but what to do if i am not able to startup my database????
as and when i try to do this i get following...

1/ You cannot have a space inside the path
2/ You have to name a file that exists
3/ You have to give a file that you and Oracle can access
4/ You have to write a valid statement
