Hi!
Are there any good information about on how to move a 10g database to a new server? We will keep the same disks on the SAN, but make a new installation on the new server.
Any feedback is appreciated.

Hi!
I know that on Windows, you have to run a command to create the services for the DB.
But Im not sure if they will move the disks from the server or use new disks. If they use new disk, I guess I have to create the database again, or how is it done on Linux?
If we use new disks, what are the steps? (the datafiles are stored on the SAN).

No you have not.

Copy the file to the new disks, change the control files location in init.ora, mount the database, use alter database to rename each file, open the database.
