ora 11gR2 installation [message #473057]

Hi all.

I'm intalling ora11gR2 on solaris 10.
But i'm confused about installation time.
I began at 2 pm oclock and 4 hours later it still on at 95%
of installation
no errors message anyway.
So my question: How long does it takes ?

12 GB of RAM.
Only small error about swap space : I set 11.9 GB of swap space.

I would check the installation log file to see where exactly installer is stuck.
For me usually, it is anywhere between 20-45 minutes for grid and oracle db home installation.

The install logs says " Starting oracle database configuration assitant" 2 hours ago.
So It stucks there.

You must have chosen to install and create the database, which most of us will never choose.
A simpler option is just to startover.
select the options to install the software only. You can manually create the database using dbca later.

Were you running this installation over a putty session or an X-windows session to a server?

It may have (or wanted to) open up another window to ask you basic questions about how you want your database set up and it is waiting for input.
