Hi,

Does any one knows what's the difference between having BIG datafile (32GB) vs many small datafiles (4GB) replacing a Big one.

It depends. If the smaller files are all residing on different physical disk drives, then performance will be (somewhat) slower on a single 32GB file.

The difference is one vs many.
Apart from that, unless you do not use RMAN to backup and don't want to use 11g, there is no difference.
RMAN 11g can backup part of files in parallel into different pieces.
Otherwise you have to backup the big file serially.

Is there still someone not using disk array hiding the physical level and not using stripping?
