Hi,

I am using TOAD to monitor user sessions. I have a user who uses nearly 80% of Overall resources in the mornings. He calls me daily and say that his work is done. But even then the TOAD shows that he is using same resources for some time.

My question is can i kill the session once he confirms his work is done OR do i need to wait till the redologs are cleared.

Please suggest.

Best Regards,

If it does not matter for him then do as you want.

What does mean "80% of Overall resources"?

In toad, we can see the resources(CPU,Network,IO etc) being used by a particular user.

Killing the session on regular basis ? Sounds like an unhealthy approach.

A better way would be for the user to to close / exit the client program, then the session should go away.

If the user doesnt close his application after finishing his/her job, will it still affect the overall performance of the database. This user runs a very big job.

Yes, no, maybe, maybe not, it depends.
Does someone complain about something?

Through away a tool if you don't know what its reports mean (as you seem to don't understand what TOAD tells you).
