Hi All,

Can anyone please let me know the importance of refreshing the stale statistics in oracle database and also how often we should do this?.Thanks in advance for any help.

Oracle generates its plan from the statistics, if the statistics are wrong then the plan are not optimal and performances bad.
If you are in 10g and up, let Oracle does it itself.

Any idea how often oracle 10g and above will refresh the stale statistics.

There's an automatic scheduled job that runs every night.
