Has anyone had success in putting multiple Oracle databases on one NT box? I have a couple small applications that could easy use one box -- if only Oracle would better support it and I could work through the multiple home issues.

Many thanks in advance !

Why not just use different users that have exclusive rights to their own tablespaces/schemas?

It is possible to have more than one Oracle instance running on an NT server, but unless separate instances are really required, I think Mr. Webb's suggestion of implementing the two databases as separate schemas within a single instance is usually a better way to go.

I have 2 separate instances working on the same Oracle 8.1.5 NT box. I just create an instance (NT sevice) with ORADIM, startup instance with NOMOUNT and create the database. To have 2 instance online at the same time you set the current (active) instance by 'set oracle_sid=<sid_name> before you startup database with SVRMGRL. Then you start the listener and connect from 2 instances at he same time. There is nothing to do with multiple home issues, because it is for two separate oracle products on the same platform (Oracle 7 & 8). Multiple instances for the same product are hold at the same oracle home.
